I always have fun at garage sales, mainly because I never know what I will find. Two summers ago, my daughter spotted one while we were driving and I was so glad we stopped. I found this beautiful embroidered panel that they were giving away for $.50. Well, how could I possibly pass it up? Eventually I decided to sew a border around it using decorator fabrics. So now I am patiently waiting for the garage sale season to start. Who knows what I will find?

Is It Really Spring?
We had a few beautiful days, so this morning when I went out, I had on a light jacket. Needless to say, I went right back in the house and took out my winter coat. I have been waiting for spring so that I can post a picture of this handbag. I love the colors; they are so soft and warm and remind me of spring and summer. I will be putting it on Etsy soon.

Aster Manor Pillow
So here is a picture of the Aster Manor Pillow that I finished while I was on the Brownstone Quilting Retreat. I had a lot of fun deciding on what ribbon, button, and cording to put on this pillow. I sewed and stuffed an insert for the pillow so that I can take it out to wash the cover if ever I need to. I especially like the back of the pillow. I don't know why.

Brownstone Quilting Retreat 2010
Well, I have not been able to post for a while. Last week we had a huge rain storm that took out a lot of trees and power lines. We were driving home during the storm and had to take a few detours. It was so eerie driving through town in the dark, with large trees down all over the place. Unfortunately, we were without electricty for 3 days. It was a bit difficult, but we managed. The minute our power was restored, I started to prepare for our Brownstone Quilting Retreat this past week end. It was at the Shawnee Inn in Pennsylvania and we had a great time. Every participant was asked to make a Magic Twist/Disappearing Nine Patch block for our service project. The quilt turned out great; it is the red, white, and blue one that a member is holding up. I worked on a few projects, but only finished one (the Aster Manor Pillow). I will post a picture of it after I am done stuffing it. Hopefully, it will not take me too long...

Wow, love this quilt!
This is a quilt pattern that I found on Bonnie Hunter's website (Patches and Pinwheels). I used up a lot of my scraps making this quilt and I decided to do all the pinwheel blocks in shades of blue. I felt that this tied it all together. I ended up sending it out to be quilted because it was a lot larger than I could handle. I love the way it came out. Hope the recipient enjoys it.
