I finally finished putting the binding on my string quilt. It is 110" x 110" and fully covers our king bed.
It was really tough taking a picture of this quilt because it is so large. But I decided to put it on the bed and take another picture. I love the way it turned out. It only took me how many years to sew a quilt for my bed? Let's just say too long.
I am also progressing on my yo-yo handbag. It is a bit slow. I have now sewn 16 yo-yo's together to make 3 blocks. There are beads sewn in between the yo-yo's. This is really a cool way to sew the yo-yo's together.
Can you tell I love irises? Throughout the years I think I have planted about 100 bulbs.

I have not managed to get outside and garden as much as I would like, but I will share some pics.

Warm and cold colors together in the perfect harmony. It looks fantastic lying on the bed.
You have beautiful flowers,I'll never have in this cold climate.I've always been dreaming of clematis.I could have it in POland, but here-in Sweden-no way!It would have died of low temperatures.
The irises are very much inspiring for my beadweaving:-)

Hi Talin,

Stunning quilt!!
ReplyDeleteThat quilt is AMAZING and so worth the wait to finish it!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYour iris are so pretty. That dusty yellow is lovely.
Beads in the yo yos? That sounds like a great solution and a terrific way to dress a yo yo up.
You must have a pretty big yard Talin! I love the Iris's too. Was that a Spiderwort I saw? Another one of my favorites, I have one.
ReplyDeleteThat quilt is simply gorgeous Talin. I wish I had your gift. Very, very nice!
I'm still looking forward to seeing your completed yoyo bag, the yoyo's look great! Love Di ♥
Your string quilt is *gorgeous*!!! I love how the yellow square (upper left of the first picture) "overlaps" the big red square. King size is so ambitious, you are very brave and it looks great!
ReplyDeleteI love the beads between the yo-yo's. I haven't seen that before. Great idea!
Talin, your quilt is stunning! I have never seen one color-blocked before -- how creative! I agree that you should enter it into a show. P.S. We miss you. Florence
